Learn How We Control Quality
We test our fuels regularly, and rigorously
We run all the pellets we buy through a battery of tests regularly, to assure the
best quality for our customers. These tests include the following attributes and
parameters:
- Ash content
- Heating value
- Pellet fines content
- Diameter
|
- Durability
- Ash fusion temperature
- Chlorine levels
- Length
|
Unlike manufacturers, who self-certify, we independently test all products we sell. We check each of our products regularly, and sample completely randomly from each plant’s production stream.
No one in the country tests a broader cross section of fuels and publicly reports the results.
What do we mean by ‘Qualifies as Super Premium’
When we confirm that the ash content of a fuel supplied by one of our sources routinely
meets the ash content requirements of the planned “Super Premium” grade, we indicate
it ‘qualifies as super premium.’ For clarity, no fuel in the country is yet certified
by PFI as meeting the grade, and we are not yet independently certifying these fuels
to a super-premium grade designation.
What do we mean by ‘Certified Premium’
We do have several fuels that we are independently certifying do meet the PFI premium
grade designation. We do this through regular testing in conjunction with the manufacturers.
If you experience any quality issues with these products, we will test the product
again for conformance and gladly refund your money if the product does not meet
the PFI requirements.
